I met the group early at BSH and ran the Riverbottoms in S.F. Just wanted to get my miles in to get ready to run the Ice Breaker 5K. With the week I put in I know it won't be a stellar effort but a needed something to measure my speed training and help motivate me to longer tempo runs. Well the race turned out to be a disappointment as far as getting 3 consistent miles of speed but it worked out to be a good day for my training and a better week planned for this week.

What was your time, what kind of course, and did you have an independent course length verification (ideally USATF-certified, otherwise at least two GPSs, mapping it out on Course Tool in the blog, G-Map pedometer, wheel, etc)? Most non-USATF-certified 5 Ks are either long or short, that is why I do not run them, and do not recommend anyone to run them unless you know the race director and he swears to you on the Bible that he properly measured the course. Or unless you take the trouble to measure the course yourself. If the course is not right, or you do not take the elevation profile and the conditions into account, you may just as well generate a random number between 17 and 22 and use it as your 5 K time to evaluate your fitness.
